Haiku For A Lion

.
While I have not yet joined Poets United, their Thurdsay Think Tank Prompt this week asked its writers to explore 'eyes'. This haiku came to mind...
.
.
Tawny eyes meet mine,
and hold…golden grass shimmers,
time ceases to be…
.
For a brief, wonderful moment, I locked eyes with this young lion on the Serengeti Plain...

Awesome! I would have wet my pants and not got the photo. Look at all the battle scars on his nose and ears, but his eyes hold an intelligence and peace.
Love your photos- Tete

SO glad you posted this! A beautiful haiku and the photo is amazing - he seems to look right out of the frame . I cant even imagine being that close and locking eyes with such a beautiful being.

Such an amazing haiku Lynette! Your experiences as a photographer give you a vision all your own. I think that is both intriguing and amazing! Look forward to more of your photography and poems! :-)

Lynette,
Beauty, trust and danger all apparent, in those eyes.
An excellent poetry prompt choice!

Best wishes, Eileen
