With my post-Christmas brain in recovery mode, I chose an old poem for Poet's United Thursday Think Tank. This piece seems appropriate for today's prompt of 'observation'....I like few things better than watching as the world stirs itself to begin a new day...

Frost in stillness lies...

moon gives way to morning’s light...

silent comes the day.

What a lovely poem and accompanying photo, Lynette. The morning stillness is always new and like nothing else I’ve encountered. It is a brief opportunity to contemplate the dawning of life before it starts stirring. I'm also mindful that while it is quiet in my part of the globe … it’s completely opposite on the other. :)

Perfect photo for the poem, Lynette, and vice versa. I am not a morning person, but when circumstances have me up at dawn, I find myself wishing I didn't have to sleep so late.
Penelope is right about other parts of the world. I've just exchanged e-mails with a blogger in Australia. She told me that three times the water in Sydney Harbour is flowing through some towns in Queensland - the mind boggles.
